A group of students from the Faculty of Fine Arts, tired of the routines that we lived daily in the workshops, decided to carry out a creative experience outside the institution, deciding in group form the characteristics of the work to be carried out, the place, the processes. We did not take long to project the painting of a mural, which we would do at the intersection of the streets New York and Marseilles of Berisso, where there was a vacant lot with two walls of the border houses that would serve as support.

A series of drawings he was making, based on photographs of immigrants appearing in magazines edited by the Centro Editor de América Latina, served as a basis for beginning. We took slides of the same ones that we then projected on the walls to make the basic drawings combining different parts.

We made a poster in screen printing to sell and raise funds to solve the expenses.A coonstructor company lent us scaffolds, neighbors of the place provided us stairs, in a nearby bar we kept the elements that we used every day. The enthusiasm and collaboration of the people of the neighborhood provided us with the energy necessary to carry out the project.

As the days passed the faculty teachers began to learn about what we were doing, and some of them accompanied us with their presence, their recommendations and subsequent writings. Juan Carlos Romero and Néstor García Canclini were the ones who gave us the most support.

We left two spaces on the walls, where we wrote, up on the stairs, two previously selected phrases, at the opening ceremony of the mural.
