Tradición remendada. Serie JUNTARSE 135/30.000
Ser consciente de ello es dar el primer paso hacia otra realidad que debemos buscarnos. placing a print under a glass, with a frame, distance to the viewer and condition his gaze with strict conditionings. I choose the Andean quipu format, which identifies us as Americans, to include my prints in various ways, as a declaration for the rescue of pre-Hispanic art and cultures. On this occasion I used woodcuts printed on different papers and fabrics, to form volumetric or flat elements that were included in the textile object. It was in 2010 that I started performing some prints with names of chiefs who performed in our territory and others with figures in an attitude of dancing together. Those prints were included in manifestations of other disciplines, such as painting, sculpture, drawing or textiles, as is the case here. I continue to discover other names through a variety of readings and I am interested in rescuing them in some way so that others take an interest in their stories. And I'm sure that together we can build another reality out of the atavistic grudges that still dominate us. That is why the images of dancers projected into other dimensions. Among those who came on the ships, who were here and the later mestizos, we did not finish solving roughnesses, nor solve genocides committed. I understand that much remains to be done so that we can build a country worthy of all. For now there are many patches that do not solve the problem as a whole. To be aware of this is to take the first step towards another reality that we must seek.
