“I will never understand the attitude of men toward us, objects “. Thus begins one of the accounts that are part of the book Mysterious Buenos Aires by Manuel Mujica Láinez, quote that I found appropriate to begin to write about this special object that I present as a work of art. I am a defender of the realization of tangible works, not because he does not understand the validity of other manifestations, but because I am personally attracted to the possibility of physically interacting with something that has been done, both by me and others, occupying a place in space. In this case I used the format of an Andean quipu because I wanted to make a record of facts or situations that would account for a vital activity, of a set of objects that suggested a continuous evolution. There are forms that swell and others that seem to dry off on a path to death. Oppositions between whites and colors, warm and cold, active or passive. This object has a mission, work that I do not do anything about now: it is in charge of observing each of the spectators studying their reactions. That is to say, in addition to the initial impulse that has been received in its realization, it will be charged with the senses that each reading provides. Suspended volumes that seem to be growing, distancing, twisting to free themselves from bindings and costumes, referring to a past, presenting a present and projecting a future. There are here, more than answers, many questions that I allow myself to convey to viewers for the purpose of generating others. Gustavo Alfredo Larsen October 2023.
